NEL Framework

Introduction to the NEL Framework at ASIS
At ASIS, we are committed to providing a strong foundation for your child’s learning journey from Nursery (2-3 years old) to Kindergarten (KG1 & KG2). Our curriculum follows Singapore’s Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework, ensuring that children develop holistically in a safe, engaging, and play-based environment.
What Will Your Child Learn?
Our program nurtures young learners through six key areas of development:
Aesthetic & Creative Expressions – Exploring creativity through music, art and movement.
Discovery of The World – Encourage curiosity and early science concepts
Language & Literacy – Building communication skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Numeracy – Developing early math skills through fun and hands-on activities
Motor Skills Development – Strengthening physical coordination and confidence
Social & Emotional Development – Fostering self-awareness, social skills, and independence
How Do We Teach?
At ASIS, learning is fun, meaningful and engaging!
We ensure that:
Learning is integrated across different subjects
Teachers facilitate instead of just instructing
Children learn through play & exploration
We provide authentic, real-life learning experiences
Every child actively build their understanding of the world through experiences, rather than passively receiving information.
Development is holistic, nurturing the mind, body, and heart
How Do We Assess Your Child’s Growth?
We believe in joyful learning without stress! Instead of tests, we use:
Observations & Learning Portfolios – Tracking your child’s progress through daily activities
Anecdotal Notes & Photos – Capturing meaningful moments in their learning journey
Play-Based & Authentic Assessments – Ensuring children grow at their own pace
